Yummy Split Pea Soup

Ingredients 
1 onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic
2 parsnips (peeled and diced)
2 carrots (peeled and diced)
2 cups dried split peas
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
2 bay leaves
6 cups vegetable broth
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1 cup diced lean ham (optional)

Cooking Directions

In a crock-pot, add onion, garlic, parsnips, carrots, split peas, thyme, herbs, bay leaves, vegetable broth, salt, and pepper (to taste), and some diced ham (after blending if you blend) if you would like to have a little bit of lean protein added, if you would like. Once cooking has completed, blend or leave chunky depending on preference. Lastly, the good part, place this delicious split-pea soup in a bowl or serving container of your choice and enjoy. This delicious soup is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
