New Balance 574

The Iconic 574 New Balance

Running shoes can be extremely hard to find. Unless you have access to a running specialty store it is often hard to zero in on a brand and style that suits your foot. The New Balance 574 is often looked at more for it’s retro appearance but it is also an excellent casual running shoe that doesn’t break the bank.

Timeless Design

To begin, saying these shoes have become something of an icon would be an understatement. Introduced in 1988, the New Balance 574 has been a staple for New Balance fans and in the past several years the shoe has gained in recognition. The current design is very much in line with the original 80s style making these shoes classic. The 574 is always available in their core colors of Grey, Navy, Black, and White, as well as seasonal color combos that are a little more adventurous.

Stylish and Comfortable

The shoe has an ENCAP midsole which according to New Balance means it has a core of soft cushioning of EVA in the midsole with a tough polyurethane rim for support and durability which is essential for running and trying to prevent too much impact on your joints. The retro sneaker looks good and has the comfort and support needed.

Pricing

Most New Balance styles are reasonable but the 574 is extremely reasonable coming in at $79.99 which for a running sneaker is on the low end of the spectrum.

The New Balance 574 is a great shoe for any occasion. Their sleek design and seasonal colorways draw the eye, but the cushioning and high-quality materials are what truly make this shoe a great value. After all, there’s a reason they’ve withstood the test of time and remained a favorite since their first introduction. These running shoes won’t do all the work for you, but they can definitely help.
